Pass or Fail

Monday morning I went into Franklin's room at that hospital and I changed his diaper and took his temperature like always before he eats and something seemed different. I looked at him for a minute trying to figure out what was different and then it hit me. He had no tubes up his nose. No more oxygen:)!! Yeah!!! He is finally breathing on his own. He is getting close to coming home. His next and I think last hurdle is passing his car seat test. Apparently preemie babies can have a hard time with car seats and stop breathing while traveling. So before he can leave the hospital he has to pass the car seat test. He has to sit in his seat for 1hr15min. and keep his Oxygen levels up. He has failed the test twice which they assure me is very common. Tomorrow they will retry and hopefully he will pass. Then he will get to meet the rest of the family who anxiously await his coming home.

I'm so happy for Franklin and for you! I hope he passes the "test" Wow so young and already inundated with tests, he'll be a pro by the time he starts school. I can't believe how big he has gotten, though still so small. He has sure come a long way in his short life. I'm just sad I'm not there to see him.
I don't know why you didn't know I had a blog, probably something to do with having a baby 10 weeks early and being preoccupied with his health and well being- as well as the rest of your family :)
Love you all!!

He is SO cute! I didn't realize until Barbara told us that none of your kids have seen him in person yet. I hope everything goes really well and you'll all be together soon.
